Aroma and flavor of fruit and honey. Not particularly tripel-like at all. Actually seems to be almost the same beer as their maibock! Unimpressive, though not that bad tasting.

Far superior to the bourbonized style. Fairly not brown but nearly clear. Just as the description says. Light smoke, earth, lightly roasted malt, maybe a little peat. Medium palate, fairly dry overall.

courtesy of keifdog. Pours ruby/amber and tan head. aroma and taste have the signature doppelbock. Lots of malts with caramel notes, sweet almost sugary. Light hints of dark fruits. Good stuff, cant go wrong with Sprecher.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a very thin light brown foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of black chocolate is pretty intense with some note of roasted malt. Taste is also a mix between some black chocolate and light roasted malt with some spicy notes. Body is a bit thin for the style with some low carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I thought this may lack some complexity but very enjoyable overall.

500ml bottle. Cloudy orange tan color. Sweet artificial mango aroma. I have really found sorghum beers to be quite unappealing. This one is no exception. The aroma is really a killer. Would be acceptable if you were in West Africa. An interesting style choice, but one Id certainly never buy again.

Courtesy of keifdog. Pours hazy gold with wafer thin head. The aroma is sweet with fruity apple notes, vegetables, somehow sweetness but coming from what I don’t know and wet cement. Certainly an odd start to things. The flavor is just as different as the aroma with the same fruity notes, odd wet cement earthiness, mild acidity, a bit of plastic bag and a mixture of gravel. Anyway.

500ml bottle. Cloudy bronze-orange color with a decent foamy head...looks official. Classic hefe-yeast aroma on the clovy side. The taste is creamy and enjoyable, with a smooth sweet banana aftertaste. Spicy and crisp hop balance in the initial mouthfeel. An above par American-Hefe.

Bottle: Poured a deep hazy orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of bitter hops with distinguishable caramel malt base. Taste is also a mix between some bitter hops, though not as bitter as expected considering the style, with a nice caramel malt backbone. Full body with average carbonation. Refreshing and well done but not as hoppy as expected.

Bottle 16fl.oz. @ home.[ Trade by Papsoe ]. Clear medium to dark black color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully - mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, sweet dark bread, roasted, brown rye bread dough - sour bread dough, peat. Flavor is moderate to haevy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Bitternes is peat bitter, sweetness is brown sugar sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (030908)

Courtesy of keifdog. Talking about something totally different. This one replaces wheat and barley by sorghum and millet. I appreciate Sprecher for their initiative as this beer really takes an open mind to really appreciate it. The taste was just unique. Aroma was totally different than usual, of honey Taste was a mix of spices and smoke. While not horrible, the beer is on a league of its own as it will challenge all your taste buds to even dare finishing a small sampler.
