On draught at the brewpub. Brown-black pour with a medium thin beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Sparse small patches of lace. Aroma of oak, bourbon and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of oaky bourbon, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate and malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Slightly hazy orange-gold pour with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Grassy hop, citrus and malt aroma. Light to medium body with flavors of grassy hops, sweet grapefruit and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

--Keg at Savor Pint, Columbus. -- Clear amber, small head. Caramelly nose. Mid sweet with medium to full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and syrup, some butter. Low bitterness.
