33cl can as a gift. Pours black with a modest beige head. Malty aroma with nice roasty notes, caramel, chocolate and milk. Medium sweet and surprisingly pleasant, not much bitterness to speak of, but works out anyway. Quite nice.

33cl can as a gift. Pours clear, pale golden with a rather small, white head. Grainy and slightly fruity aroma (ripe pears) with hints of cooked vegetables and hops. Moderate sweet and much cleaner and less sweet than expected - even some bitterness is noticeable. Fairly easy to drink, but far from interesting, but I have certainly tasted worse.

Bottle. Clear golden body with no head or lacing. Steady carbonation. Aroma of honey, wort and wet grass. Flavour of sweet malt and sugary water. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Overly sweet and not very good.

Backlog from 11.04.12 in Cape Town. "At SAB Miller’s Newlands Brewery tap (’The Provincial Arms’), with a sample of their fermented maize liquid. Castle Lager on draught. Pale golden in colour, shiningly bright and persistent white head, which appearance is bordering to artificial. Highly carbonated. Some hop aroma. Taste of sugary water with a somewhat slimy mouthfeel. Slightly crude aftertaste with hints of bitterness. More tasty and bitter than the bottled version, although that doesn’t take much to achieve."

Bottleshare at Leighton’s Stratoflat. Thanks to Dan the far ranging Man. Almost clear gold beer, thin white head. Palate is light and dry and a little crisp. Marvellously sweet apple! Lemonade! Light finish. Very sweet and fruit, enjoyable rubbish .

Rich, deep dark brown coloured body with a thick brown base and a nice, three centimetre tall microfoamed deep brown head - very nice looking. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, milk chocolate, figs, prunes, nuts, pecans and a touch of alcohol - nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive creamy and malty flavours at first with some metal twangs and a bit of nuttiness noticeable, along with a defined creamy flavour from the milk/lactose and a good rich sweetness from prunes and raisins. Aftertaste is nice with a light complexity and some minor chocolate flavours to couple with the malt and pit creaminess. Overall, a nice milk-based stout with a rich flavour and nice maltiness - great to sample, perhaps this has gotten better over time, but there isn’t much sediment and I don’t remember much different from when it was fresh. I sampled this 330 mL can purchased from the Skukuza Rest Camp in/near Nelspruit, South Africa, inside Kruger National Park, South Africa on 21-August-2011 sampled the fourth time after this trip going back to South Africa, in just a few hours with two kids, on 08-August-2015 where i’ll surely pick up more of this fine beer.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Daniel. Pours clear yellow with a creamy white head. The nose holds lemon, some Pine-Sol. Tastes like Sprite. Light bodied, lightly syrupy, with spritzy carbonation. Sugary finish with big lemon-lime character. I mean, if you enjoy soda like Sorite and 7-Up, then you would like this most likely.

Old rating, bottle at the student pub. Better than many of the African macro lagers. Not a favourite style but decent for the style

Dorada clara, brillante con dos dedos de blanca espuma. Aroma marcado a malta, igual que el sabor. Carbonatacion media. Parece como a medio hacer. Floja.
