OK, this is very bizarre. When I travel with Steptin, we are constantly amazed at how similarly we rate beers. Now here I am in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, drinking a local Castle lager, which I rated as a 2.2. Then to my shock and amazement, when I return to the hotel room to enter my rating, I find that Bierkrug has given him the same beer, and you’ll never guess what he’s rated it. And the most amazing thing is that it was far more interesting to read this story than it was to rate yet another underwhelming developing world lager.Earlier Rating: 8/16/2009 Total Score: 2.1Clear yellow, fluffy white head. Very distant malt aroma. Not much body, light on taste as well. Scant bitterness in the finish. Nothing to write home about.

30cl bottle from a South-African colleague. An uninspiring lager. Probably would be ok on a hot day

Bottled at Allstars cafe, Bratislava. Color golden with small white head. Aroma, strongly malty. Taste pretty the same with light roasted coffee hints. Crap.

Very bland and watery Pils that only has a crisp dry finish worth any note at all.

Country 47# thx Ted, cons Göteborg 2010-12-14 And luckely on of the top SA beers :-)! AR: chocolate, hops, brown sugar AP: dark brown with a reddish toone, 2 cm froty/creamy/fluffy creme beige head F: chocolate, melas, roasted malt, brown sugar, pritty bitter beverage that is somehow growing (in a possitive way) in my mouth, a bit alcoholic (6%) feeling - a great and simple stout!

Tin. Poured pale yellow with thin fast dissipating white head. Maize aroma, this smelled more like a maize beer. Thin body, a little malt, a lot of maize. Small amount of bitter finish. This is just another adjunct loaded macro lager, very unremarkable. Now that I’ve had one for old time’s sake, I can go back to ignoring it.

Bottle thanks to seabass: Poured a reddish black with a light tan head. The aroma is boozy. Taste is sticky roasted malt and hops tang. Very interesting beer.
