0.5l bottle from #007. The first thing I did was smell this, and I know exactly what it smells like. I'm 30 years old now, but my mother still gives me a candy Christmas calendar every year, and yesterday I got this candy strawberry. Quite sweet, somewhat cloying and really jammy. It has a big red part that just tastes sweet but also a green stalch part that tastes exactly how this smells! Strange stuff indeed, yeah I know.. Other than that it's mild nutty, I get tones of sweet dried fruits and some malty nutty caramel. Quite nice. In the glass it's a cloudy deep dark amber bronze one and it has a lovely looking dense medium sized beige head leaving some mild curtains and dots down the sides of the glass. Can't get over that strawberry thing.. Anyhow, it tastes quite yeast nutty and bitter at first. Almost like how your mouth feels like after you have eaten a slightly bad nut it turns really astringent and yeasty. There's also tones of old dried fruits, some leafy thing in the back. In the mouth it's well oily and it's just below average on the carbonation. Not a huge flavor experience really, but I can't remember the last time I was this spot on on the candy strawberry aroma. After a while it turns out quite decent I have to say. Grows a nice little malty sweetness. 11.12.2015

500 ml bottle. Nice, dark golden body with a dense off-white head. Not much aroma here, a hint of cooked vegetables. Flavor is slightly sour with fruit, vegetables and harsh grassy bitterness. Medium body and moderate aftertaste. Plain and with some off flavors. Not very pleasant.

Tåkete gulbrun med fingerhøyt eggegult skum. Lukter sitrus, blomster, fudge, noe smør og honning. Lett til medium fylde. Fruktig start mot sitrus, kort lett bitter fra mitten og ut. Floralsk. Litt tørr.

500ml bottle, batch #024 bought at Meny Oslo City. A snow white head to a cloudy, golden body. Rings of lace down the glass. Fresh fruity smell with a piney touch. Succulent citrus taste with grapefruit upfront added by peaches. Bitterness of citrus shells to the finish. Well bodied for the alcohol strength. Great session qualities (hotel room, Oslo 11.05.2016).

500 ml bottle. Clear, dark brown body with a tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is totally dominated by star anise, with moderate dark malt and toast in the background. Flavor is sweet, medium dark malt with lots of star anise and hint of toast and caramel. Rather thin body and aftertaste of sweet caramel malt and star anise. This is just too much star anise for my liking. Some spices might be OK, but in this case the porter flavor itself is almost in the background. It has to be a rather robust porter to handle this much spices, and this one is too much of a light weight porter IMO. Ends up rather one dimensional.

Bottle. A hazy, golden colored beer topped by a huge off-white head soon collapsing. Lacing. The aroma has some yeasty hints and bread, with citrus zest, oranges and pine cones. It’s full-bodied, semi-smooth and with a nice carbonation level. Oranges, bitterness, citrus zest and pine cones in the lightly bready flavor. Lasting hop dominated finish. A beer filled with good intentions, but it’s not very well integrated in any way. 160504
