Crisp copper coloured body with a nice bronze glow and a perfect, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh earthy and grapefruity hops with a nice malt smell and a hint of grass and hay. Medium-bodied; Good balance of malt and hops with some pleasant light resinous and grassy notes with a very mild caramelised sugar sweetness. Aftertaste shows some herbal and grassy notes with a solid and smooth malt backbone. Overall, a nice and relatively light APA with some nice herbal and grassy flavours, but not a horrible amount of hops, which is fine. I sampled this tall (australian styled) 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 09-June-2012 for US$8.50 sampled at home in Washington on 17-June-2013.

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear very light yellow colour with a thin white head. The aroma is weak apple fruit leading to a sweet fruity acidic taste. It’s refreshing but way too sweet for me. Would probably do well in my car battery!

330ml bottle bought at Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Shared with Finn back home. Amber coloured body, decent beige head leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Leafy hops and brown malts on the nose. Modestly flavoured with leafy hops and rather sweet malts. Mild bittersweet ending. Thin to medium bodied. Average (Tromsø 29.05.2013).

200ml from keg at Mikkeller & Friends, kindly shared by Skinnyviking. Low, tan-coloured head over a black body with brownish highlights. Grassy hops to the nose alongside vanilla sweet malts. Fresh malt-fruity taste of creamy chocolate and dark fruits supported by a hint of juniper. Long-lived, malty-fruity ending. Well bodied. Comprehensive and tasty (Copenhagen, 22.05.2013).

The sweet, slightly chocolatey aroma is mixed with some damp basement to make for a slightly unusual flavour. The palate is disappointingly watery and the malts seem to almost disappear altogether. It’s redeemed somewhat by the light hops, but overall the taste fails to live up to that pleasant aroma.
