Sample at the Tehachapi Beer & Wine Festival on 07/18/2015: Hazy pale orange color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Light body with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a floral hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

330ml bottle @ 12th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, April 15, courtesy of Mr Haddock down there. Pours gold with bubbly white head. Floral nose. Taste is honey & mild citrus before fading out to a rather bland inoffensive plane.

Remember to drink local: yeah right! 28th April 2015: 12oz bottle at the Shrewsbury (England) Bottle Exchange Group meeting. Golden pour with a wispy white topping. Mild honey sweetness in the nose and taste, but not a lot of anything going on really: disappointing.

Bottle to pint glass. This is a really tasting beer! Overt amounts of citrus on both the aroma and flavor. Moderate high bitterness works well for this beer.

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a small beige head that sticks around for a while with nice lacing. Aroma is malty, initially sweet toffee giving way to smoked wood and some grass. Flavor is less sweet than I feared, maybe medium sweet, heavy bitter; an American barleywine for sure. Smoke is present but light, not really a rich hardwood smoke, more like burning paper(?). Some dark sugary malts, caramel, toffee, a noticeable pine, perhaps orange. Lots and lots of lingering bitterness, and a strong ABV burn to it; more so than 12% would imply. This one is just a bit all over the place. It really can’t decide what it wants to be, and as a result its kind of a bit of a boozy mess.

Bottled (AbM). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, nectary and some slight honeylike notes along with a nice maltiness to it. Flavour is very similar, but the maltiness has more crisp biscuity notes and slightly more toffee to it. Nice honey sweetness in the finish.
