Bottle from Isetan. Nose is malty, rich, some caramel, lemony hops, a bit herbal too. Also something slightly fecal comes out later. As it opens, it becomes rather unpleasant. Cloudy deep golden orange with a low, thick head. Flavor is bready malt, biscuit, esters. Not much hopping going on, and hte finish is also kind of malty and estery where I would prefer a crisper bitterness. Not very impressive, especially compared to the nice bitters they use to make and only served on hand pump. What went wrong here?

nice peach character, nice wheatiness, light easy drinking. Very pleasant

Bottle from Yamaoka. Bright, citrusy hop nose, malt is rich, some caramel, raisins, plums, orange grapefruit, grapes. Deep amber-orange, clear, with a high head. Malty chocolate flavor, caramel, orange, grapefruit, apple, raisin, grass, very complex.This is very malty in an old-school way, but with big, complex hopping. There are some piny resins there too, and the finish is quite bitter. This seems like their W-IPA with the gravity dropped a bit and a whole lot of fun hops added.

Tap at Takumiya. Dark golden-orange color with lace. Nose is pineapple, lactic acid notes, citrus. Tart and fruity flavor, crackery malt. Good deal of fruity sweetness to go with the tart edge. Decent.

Nice enough. Subtle lemon but it’s there. Pilsner part doesn’t stand out, but it’s an easy drinking hot day nice supper.
