Really golden in hue, and quite golden in quality, too. At one of Minoh's beer bars.

I have no bitter feelings about this lass.

Keg at Beer Belly Brewpub. Shame they no longer have hand pumps. Spicy hop nose, malty, bread, earthy, grainy. Light citrus and caramel. Shiny deep reddish-brown with a thick low head, clear. Great malt character, nicely spicy hops, peppery, lovely and authentic. Smooth and light with a nicely bitter finish. Want more on hand pump!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Lior D. Cloudy yellow, white head. Nice fruity hops, rather dry, moderately bitter finish, citric, medium-bodied.

Tap at the Warehouse. Nose is vanilla, whiskey, caramel, orange. Smooth and sweet, with nice whiskey and vanilla character. Well balanced and fun. I was expecting something weird, but this is very nice. Not really an IPA any more, of course, more like a BA barley wine by now, but lighter, not heavy.

Tap at Minoh Warehouse. Cloudy orange. Nice nose, creamy, biscuity malt with yuzu, nice citrus but not overpowering. Yuzu and citrus flavors are quite nice, but you never lose the malty ale character, spicy finish with jabara adding to the bitterness of the hops. This is the kind of citrus beer I like. It is clearly a beer, with the fruit just adding a nice touch rather than dominating everything. --- Beer merged from original tick of Yuzu Jabara on 09 Oct 2015 at 23:42 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Tap at Craft Beer Holiday. Fruity weizen nose, yuzu, peaches, banana. Cloudy, bright gold. Nice citrus flavor, not overdone, good weizen backing. Well balanced.

Tap @ Bankan, looks like this is THE place for this beer. Pours usual darker hazy orange, some foam on top. Nose is full of sansho pepper, herbal blanket over everything else this beer has, maybe just some citrus character coming through. Body is sturdy, as W-IPA usually does, sansho is giving some extra edge, or well, pretty much dominating this beer. I kind of like this intense sansho character, at least the brewer has not been stingy with the stuff. Definitely a beer to try at least once (especially when you pay a visit to Bankan).

Tap at Bungalow. Nose is basically yuzu. There is a bit of bready malt, touch of noble hop and just a bit of lager character underneath that. Flavor is similar, mostly yuzu, bit of the pilsner shines through. Tasty and balanced, crisp and refreshing. It is hard to be impressed by yuzu beers anymore though.

Tap at Bungalow. Shiny black, pretty. Lightest nose of ginger, a bit more as it warmed, chocolate, cream. Creamy chocolate flavor, light roast, light ginger flavor with a bit of prickly ginger spice in the finish. Good, as the base beer is good, would like a little more ginger.

Tap at CBM Osaka. Made with wine grapes. Bright golden color, clear. Nose is pale malts, biscuits, grapes, citrus. Flavor is more white grape, orange, medium malt. A bit sweet. Tasty but doesn't inspire me.
