Harakiri IPA by Minoh for Kamikaze’s 3rd Anniversary. Made with Nelson Sauvin & Sorachi Ace as aroma hops. It pours a deep gold with a fruity pine hop bouquet. A soft mouthfeel on a medium body makes it a joy to drink. The initial flavor is prickly pine then you get some sweet fruity flavor and a soft finish. An easy drinking 6%

Pint at Beer Belly. Golden orange, cloudy, fine thick head. Nose of stone fruits, biscuits, spicy yeast, oranges. Crisp flavor, oranges and other citrus, bread, a bit sweet, with a nicely earthy, bitter finish. The fruit comes out nicely as it warms. Crisp finish. Good.

Glass from tap at Beer Belly. Big nose, really close to chocolate chip cookies, with vanilla. Black and shiny, low lace. Flavors of licorice, light roast, chocolate, vanilla, the bourbon character is there but rather light. The body is a little too light (as usual with this IS). Light, fizzy carbonation. Very nice.

Tap at Beer Belly. Cloudy gold with a low, lacy head. Great citra nose, lemon, wheat, banana. Rich, full body. Lovely citra falvors. Great stuff. Way better than their usual weizen.

On tap at Watering Hole. Part of a tasting flight. Deep black with a creamy tan head that lasts throughout with great lacing. Huge coffee and chocolate aromas with some tobacco, soy sauce and dark fruit that comes out as it warms up. Creamy on the palate with nice balance between sweet, tart and bitter. Full bodied and rich with a nice long smooth finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Minoh Imperial Stout on 12 May 2015 at 19:15 - Score: 8

Tap at Q-Brick. Pretty reddish-brown, no head. Nose is bourbon, grassy hops, caramel, vanilla. Aroma of a nice BA barley wine. Flavor is barrel, wood, whisky, very minerally. Comes off a bit watery. Thin palate, oily. Nice, but far from great. Doesn’t do it for me.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. (Who are getting loads of interesting beer in). I’ve just rated this, then managed to delete it. It was beautifully eloquent. Described it perfectly. In a nutshell, it’s rich, chewy, herby, sweet, fruity, bitter, and ridiculously easy to drink. Sorry you didn’t the full shebizzle... Shebizzle was good...

med body, moderate bitterness, some caramel notes. Light bodies. More strong pale ale. Meh, not bad.

Minoh Citra Weizen 5.5% their Weizen dry hopped with Citra on tap at the new beer belly. It pours a cloudy light gold with a creamy white head. The nose is prickly, peppery fruity hoppiness. It’s got a smooth wheaty body with a round carbonation. The taste is tangy cloves with chewy wheat. Quite nice but I think Tainai Kogen’s Citra Weizen has it a bit more together. Good stuff.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Dense, messy, lasting, just off white head. Grainy malt. Toffee malt. Some flora, then above all that a distinctive blood orange, hoppy sweetness. Taste is rising, pithy bitter. A touch of spice. Creamy mouthfeel. Light, and airy, but with a nice hop punch. Finishes long, light bitter. Excellent.
