Pours a clear coppery dark amber colour with a mostly lasting foamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, caramel, brown sugar and some sweet berry fruit. A moderately sweet taste, caramel, sweet berries and malty flavours with some caramel and bitterness in the finish.

Can. Gold with a dense 2 cm white head that doesn’t last. Boozy aroma with melon, citrus, damp rice, grapes. Very obvious sake in the taste with the alcohol rawness softened by a little sweetness and sharpened by citrus and grassy bitterness. The lighter body suits a iipa but perhaps the sake is just a bit much. Still, interesting and pretty good.

24/10/2022. Draught at the Quarrymans Hotel, Pyrmont. Pours clear bright amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, orange, malt, biscuit, grass, light piney edge. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. Nice bittersweet tangy orange finish. Good.

Can. Clear reddish amber with a fading inch of beige head. Aroma of dark bread, caramel, light spices. A bit more body than expected and more sweet than rich with some prunes as well as bread. Bitterness is (more than) enough but oozes through rather than snaps at the end. Not really swiggable in quantity - which is kind of indispensable for the style.

Aromas of grass, caramel, grapefruit and a tiny bit of spice. Nice peppery hoppiness in the mouth, but the malt backbone is a little light on, even though there's a nice caramel finish.

Can (Cellars Bentleigh). Fairly dark brown with a good inch of beige head. Aroma of kumquat, earthy coffee, light roast, nectarines. Lighter bodied than expected and really gluggable. A tiny bit of roast, bread and caramel before stone fruit, citrus and gently stinging bitterness. I've waited for a beer that appealed to me to try this brewery and yep, this is very nice.

(Can ABV 4.5%) Pours clear straw with tiny white head. Very little aroma - hints of lemon and bread. Light bodied and fizzy. Taste is not great with some breast malt, some citrus tartness, and some rather harsh bitterness. Not to my taste.

(Can) Pours clear golden amber with tiny white head. Aroma of a pilsner with with grassy hops and a hint of citrus. Light body with bright carbonation. Tastes good, but again pretty much like a pilsner with perhaps a more intense bitter finish. The berries were not at all apparent to me. Very pleasant.

From a 375ml can on 8/11/2020. Pours a clear deep golden with a medium head. The nose is pleasant with lots of orange and mandarin. The taste features light biscuit and caramel malt, followed by lots of sweet citrus - more orange than mandarin for mine. Finishes with a reasonably modest bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate to average carbonation. Restrained but enjoyable.
