Schooner on tap at the Erko, Sydney. Pale amber beer with thin film on top. High carbonation. Faint smell of malt and grain. Laces well. Quite grainy at first but the finish is sweet with late sour grain. Pretty ordinary.

375ml can into schooner glass. Grassy, piney, fruity nose. Hazy bronze beer with large foamy white head. Laces well. Carbonation is fine and constant. Good body. Malty taste, a little smokiness. Finish is bitter and fruity. Very interesting and quite complex for an amber ale. Easy drinking too! (Blackrock Brasserie no longer exists, so this must be brewed somewhere else now.)

Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse. Amber beer with thin clingy white head. Nose of malt, fruit, and spice. Medium carbonation. Fresh dry bitterness. You can notice the mandarin lingering right at the end. Nice, quenching IPA.

Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse Bankstown. Highly carbonated pale yellow beer with solid white head. Unexpected sour yeast nose but subtle. Full body, creamy texture. Touches of grain, malt, and fruit. Finish is long and bitter. Right at the end there is a trace of bitter orange. Nice refreshing beer.

1/2 pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse Bankstown. Subtle notes of grain, malt and honey on the nose. Crystal clear amber beer with thin white head. No bubbles visible. Grainy zing in the mouth, full-on honey finish. Unfortunately it tastes like an ice-cream. Unbalanced but brave attempt.

On tap at the Local Darlinghurst. Pours cloudy orange brown. Aroma is like someone threw an espresso at a Christmas pudding. Flavour similar with some Belgian candy sugar thrown in. Interesting, exciting, pretty tasty.

375ml can into lager glass. Tinny hop nose. Super pale yellow beer with solid white head. Many tiny bubbles. Thin body, easy drinking. Finish is cardboard, vegetables and malt. Nailed the Mediterranean lager thing but why bother?
