Schooner on tap at the Pumphouse, Sydney. Now brewed at The Australian brewery, apparently. 7%. Murky red/brown beer with frothy white head. Caramel nose. Nice lacing. Medium body, zingy in the mouth. Smoky flavour with some metallic hops in the finish. Alcohol not noticeable. Nice beer, like a traditional strong ale more than an Imperial Pils.

On tap at Pumphouse Sydney. Sweet honey/apple nose. Dark brown beer with thin film on top. Light body, no carbonation. Finish is stewed fruit (apple pie), touch of honey, touch of cocoa. As it warms, it tastes more like fruit juice. No hops, no malt, just tangy honey! Unpleasant and hard to finish.

Nice roasted malt nose, but mouth is thin and sour, though backed up with solid roastiness. Unbalanced and mediocre at best.

Bottled. Bright golden. Sweet malt aroma. Very buttery with some vegetables underneath. Fairly soft mouthfeel, very low hop rate. Too sweet for me, and the lack of hops gives too much space for the vegetables to dominate.
