Bottle shared by a friend. Hazy copper color, short frothy head. Aroma is quite malty, cookie, caramel, slight spicy note. Malt forward in taste as well, toffee and cookie. Quite low on carbonation. Tasty though.

Sampled @ VandeOirsprong Winterbier festival. Brown color, beige head. Smell and taste malts, dark fruits, caramel, raisins, slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Decent to medium body, average to decent carbonation. Don't know how this is really different from the 2016 version, but as I liked that one I won't complain.

Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival VandeOirsprong. Orange reddish color, average sized beige head. Incredibly herbal and spicy, with loads of anise. Basically not very strong sambucca. Not my kind of beer at all.

Tap @ brewery. Brown colour with a small beige head. Smells muisjes, anice, sweet, spices. Tastes muisjes, anice, sambuca, herbs, christmas. Medium body, soft carbo. Seems lighter than the regular version.
