Sampled @ Oirschots Bierfestival 2017. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste remind me of a weizen. Festival information saison it has cherries and raspberries, but there’s absolutely no hint of that in here. Nicely refreshing though.Earlier Rating: 5/14/2015 Total Score: 2.2Draught @ Oirschots Bierfestival. Dark pink to red purple color, average sized pink head. Aroma is huge artificial cherries. Taste is huge cherries as well, slightly less artificial but still not very good. Weird finish. Bleh, not good.

Geproefd bij de Oirsprong op het bier festival 2016.het is een koperkleurig bier met weinig schuim. De smaak is fruitig en zoet. Smaak is wel redelijk snel weg.

F: big, light tan, good retention. C: dark dirty amber, hazy, a lot of yeasty debris floating in. A: malty, light passion fruits, light tropical fruits, tangerine. T: malty, earthy, light passion fruits, apricot, yeasty, tangerine, rooibos, caramel, bit of homebrew feel, medium body, medium carbonation, not bad at all but I expected more after last rates, 33cl bottle from Hema near train station in Namur.

Tasted blindly with Dr. Beer / Black glassware. Smell is rather intense, very floral, mild fruity, very fresh. Fairly complex. Touch of pale malts, some yeastyness. Crust of white bread. Taste is bitter, some pale malts. Bit dry, some fruity notes. Towards the full side of mouthfeel. High carbonation, some fruity notes ( apples pop into mind ) some alcohol heat in the mouth, but not in the throat. Perhaps this is boosted by the carbonation? I’d say high fermentation because of the high carbonation, and more full mouthfeel, but it is very light and crisp on the other hand. ---- note --- as we were going for style recognition, we couldn’t have picked a worst example for zwickl. If you read the BJCP style guidelines, this does not match up with any of it. We had an overcarbonated beer, whilst zwickl should have no to low carbo, etc. OK beer; but a terrible example of the style.

Huge and stable yellow irregular head over cold hazed brown-mahogany beer. Malty and yeasty nose, yeast byproducts, melanoidins, rainwater, mild roast. More roast in the flavour; sweet malty, partly coloured underbuild, and again rainwater flavour, dark green leaves. Medium bodied at least, relieved by serious carbonation. Classical, but well-crafted dubbel - a "style" Dutch brewers are getting better at, it would seem.

Fine, dense, huge just-off white head, quite stable over fully hazy yellow-orange beer. Bit of solvent, dry spices, faint citrus, lots of malts, some herbs. Dry spices again, human sweat, ultra-dry malts, not much fruitiness, nearly nihil clove. Acidity more from the CO² than from the wheat. Well-carbonated, slick, refreshing. Just NOT very classical German. OK beer in itself as a thirstquencher.

Aptly towering amberish cream head over brownish-orange, cloudy beer. Fruit, citrus, banana, chalk, rainwater aromas. Quite a bit of toasted malts, but wheat as well. Citrus and faint banana - missing the clove, however. Finish has quite some sweetness, sweat, stock. Well-carbonated, wheatslick, medium bodied. Better than the sum of its parts. Found in an unlikely place... HEMA...
