Thanks Frank for the growler!
Shared with Doug.
My portion was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a mostly dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a mild pace. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts up front. Good use of caramel and toffee malts back that up and then ends with just a little bit of smoke.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet first and then the smoke came out to balance. Nice crisp sweet aftertaste. Sly malty sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good and the ABV (5.7%) was good too.
Overall, nice brown ale and I like the idea of getting some smoke in this, helped make it feel a bit more \"Alaskan.\"
