Location: On the beach, St. Thomas Late December '08.
Overall Impression: This was a great beach beer. I might be rating it too high (but c'mon it's hard not to enjoy something on a 90 degree day in December on a beach!), but it was perfect for the setting.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of faroeviking. Pours a clear, dark amber with an off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel and overripe fruit. Discreet bitterness. A very standard American style Amber. 171207

Pours a perfect clear copper with off white head. The aroma is light with mild fig and date notes along with a hint of caramel and booze. The taste is sweet with some dark fruity esters like prunes and raisins along with a hint or two of caramel malts. Seems a bit thin and un-substantial even for an Amber.

2nd beer of "Stay @ Home b/c of Snow Rating-Extravaganza." Gifted by PilsnerPeter on his recent travels to the Caribean. 12 oz twist off bottle, with a skull and crossed swords instead of cross bones picture on the cap. Lable says this is actually brewed in Cold Springs, MN and as far as I know that means Gleuk brewing, very nice. Color is dark amber/copper, no head and a small lacing. The aroma is burnt, musky malt, that seems to be a bit old, starting to oxidize a bit, which brings out some butterscotch/caramel aromas. Taste is not so lucky, starts off bland lager taste, ends with herbally and medicinal, just really off putting. It seems old so some oxidized sweetness has come out but it adds to a nasty taste all around. The mouthfeel is a creepy spkiey at times, like expired milk. Will not be finishing this off. Cool label and name but bad beer.

Slightly golden light brown colour. The aroma is fairly light - slightly caramelly, earthy. Similar flavour profile. Neutral finish. Cheers to microakes for the new country hookup!

An orange beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma and flavor contains notes of plastic, besides malt. A simple beer and the body is thin...

An orange beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and alcohol, as well as hints of sourness. The flavor is hoppy and dry, but the body is thin.
