Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, chocolate and coffee, with some fruity notes. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and chocolate, complemented by roasty and bitter notes of coffee and alcohol. Roasty aftertaste with some estery hints. Warming alcohol presence. Soft carbonation. Decent.

Draught @ Olfestival Kobenhavn 2013, Carlsberg TAP1, Ny Carlsbergvej 91, Copenhagen V, Denmark. [ As Stronzo Mr. Papsø’s Sticky Rye ].Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, rye, sweet malt, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet sugary malt, perfumed malt, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20130523]

Bottle 330ml. @ [ First Official Randers Tasting ] by HenrikSoegaard, at HenrikSoegaard house, Randers, Denmark. [ As Stronzo Mr. Papsø’s Sticky Rye - Bourbon barrel aged ].Clear dark black brown color with virtually no head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roastd, chocolate, coffee, wood, alcohol - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, bourbon, alcohol, roasted, chocolate, wood. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. Bottle from Kihoskh, bought during CBC 2015 and consumed in room 1014 at Radisson Royal Hotel. Black with a small tan head. Bitter with ash, roasted malt, coffee, licorice and some dark bread. Sweet and with a full body. The finish was long and with some warming alcohol.

On tap @ Bakgården Både &. Black body with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by coffee, with roasted malt and alcohol in the background. The flavor is roasted malt, coffee, hint of vanilla, balanced bitterness and quite boozy. Full body and strong in aftertaste. Can’t really decide if this is a nice one or not. I like the flavors but it’s rather unbalanced in a way, just like I’m getting coffee, malt and alcohol in separate flavor “blocks” and really not as an integrated part of the beer. Ends up a bit too boozy as well. Not bad, just not very elegant.

Bottled. Reddish brown colour with a mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, some slight herbal and bready notes along with some fruity and mild sour citrusy notes. Flavour is bready and caramel malts along with some plum, fruity and floral hops as well as some slight notes of alcohol as well. Quite nice balance, with a slight spiciness kicking through in the finish.

330 ml bottle sampled April 2014. Slightly unclear golden body with a big, lasting, creamy off-white head. A bit weak in aroma, mild citric fruit, mild malt and slightly herbal. Flavor is weak with some malt, hint of fruit and slightly metallic, low bitterness. Thin body and short in aftertaste. Boring, perhaps a bit old bottle?
