Bottle pours with a copper looking body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma is thick with malt sweetened spicy oak notes where there are murmurs of faint vague hoppiness off in the background. The taste starts with sharp spicy oak notes that are only slightly blunted by sweet maltiness laced with vanilla. To midway the spicy oak gives some ground to a sliver of pine hop bitterness that is very close in flavor to the spicy oak. Pretty nice firmly oaked brew.

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits beer tasting on 04/03/2014: Murky amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, citrus and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky vanilla, resiny hops and malt. The finish is hoppy with a subtle oak and fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Somewhat lemony aroma. Looks like darker lemonade. Good sizzle, a little creamy on the zest. Bitter citrus peel thing seems like it wants to be a pils kindah thing but never quite gets there. The cut on this makes me move it from a 4 to a 5 in taste. Yes, what turns out to be rather annoying initially, smooths out to an even keel. Glad to have tasted a glass bottle pounder of this rare beer.

50cl bottle pours with a crystal clear gold body that supports a white head. The aroma offers up nice crisp spicy hops and then running into floral hops as well as a bready sort of caramel sort of biscuit malt note. The taste has pleasing hoppiness with floral hop bitterness mixed with a spicy onion dank hop note as well as a bit of spicy hoppiness. Behind the hops murmurs the same kind of malt notes noted in the nose. I get a mix of caramel to doughy to kind of biscuit like malts. It ends with lingering floral to slightly lime like hoppiness. I love the modestly hop forward aspect of this beer. The malts are there but the hops keep it fresh and interesting.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is lightly treacle/bready with hints of noble hop. Med minus body. Fizzy/foamy carb. Flavor is moderate treacle, very light, with maybe a mix of grass and citrus. It has a certain zing to it. Finishing towards dry and bitter. Leaves off with a sort of "sour", but not exactly that, touch to the mouth. All in all quite different, but it does pretty much fit malty alt.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy gold with a transient white head. Aroma is bready with a bit of citrus. Med body or so. Flavor is lightly fruity with bread and arguably some noble hop. It’s fairly dry and seems bitter.

Sample at House Beer during the Have Another meeting on 03/09/2014. Reddish-amber color with a medium creamy white head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, ripe fruits and hops. Full, chewy body with flavors of sweet malt, fruit and earthy hops. The finish is incredibly sweet with a lingering caramel malt and subtle aftertaste. Decent overall.

On draught at House Beer during the Have Another meeting on 03/09/2014. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that recedes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of vine fruits, yeast and malt. Medium body with a vinous character and flavors of oak, doughy malt and yeast. The finish is mildly tart with a white wine and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle - Sweet caramel candy and some balsamic. Cloudy orange with a thin head. Sweet caramel and some slight tartness. No cherry or real sour notes, not great.
