Draft. Rich amber beer with a cream head. light grapefruit aroma. Rich malt and oak flavor with grapefruit and pine. Medium-plus bodied. Good bitterness. Rich malt and oak linger with grapefruit and light caramel.

Sampled at GABF. Pours an oily, opaque black with some beige head. Big bourbon nose, vanilla, cake icing, molasses, caramel. Flavor is awesome, sweet, malty, vanilla, caramel, cream soda, dulce de leche, cake icing. Full bodied, but smooth and super drinkable. Surprise of the festival for me. World class beer.

On tap at BAM Fest. Pours with a clear bronze hued body with a small, just off-white head. Aromas are nutty, maple, toasty and pretty clean otherwise. A touch earthy. Flavors are bitter and a bit more hoppy than I was expecting. Nutty, earthy, herbal. Lightly toasty. Lower carbonation and body.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a 3 finger frothy/creamy dark tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate and burnt malt with a hint of ethanol. Full bodied. Flavor is smooth and silky chocolate, coffee and refined burnt malt. Just excellent. It’s bitter, and that could be from the malt. Heat? Not bothering me a bit. Finishes dry, and bitter.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden-yellow hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are fruity, grassy, jammy, stone fruit, orange, citrus and lightly rotted fruit. A touch buttery. Flavors are sticky sweet, rotten fruit, orange, hop character. Grassy, suntan lotion, and lots of butterscotch. Medium bubbles. Slightly slick. Unpleasant levels of diacetyl.

On tap. Pours with a deep brown, near black hued body with a thick, creamy tan head that left great lace. Aromas are of fudge, nutty, spicy, fruity, spruce. A melange of spices. Cinnamon. Earthy, leathery. Light currant. Flavors are spicy: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove. Fruity and earthy. Nutty, leather, spicy. Medium to low bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation, dry.

Draught. ours with a hazed golden hued body with a white head and good lace. Aromas are floral, black pepper, medium phenol, dried apricot, spicy phenols, sage and pear. Huge yeast character. Thistle. Flavors are dry, slightly rustic: almost leathery. Peppery phenols, light clove. Low grain, dry and crisp with some orange zest notes.

On tap. Pours with a hazed peach hued body with a white head. Aromas are sweet, fruity, prickly pear, body odor, light resin qualities, honey, low grainy notes. Medium esters. Flavors are sweet, prickly pear, isoamly acetate, grainy wheat. Medium bodied with higher carbonation. Not bad.

Draft at Imbibe Wine on 7/3/12. Nose is roast, white bread, candisugar, and cloves. Very lightly hazy copper brown with a big, heavy lacing, beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, yeasty, cloves, and lightly bitter.
