Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Inky black color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and mint. Medium body with flavors of mint chocolate, malt and mild coffee. Barrel aging is very subtle. The finish is sweet with cocoa and slight bourbon aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a pure black color with a medium grey head. A light nose of chocolate, roast and mint. The flavor is odd: clear mint, dark chocolates, a thin palate. Some ash. OK.

From a bottle it is brown with a slight head. The aroma is of bourbon and mint. It tastes of chocolate and mint and has. A bitter and sweet flavor that resonated on the palate

Tap at the restaurant. Filtered orange-bronze, classic beer-beer appearance. Big, fluffy steady head. Brewhouse aroma, corny, grainy, but not dirty or adjuncty. A really solid big American Lager. Clean golden malt, some strong crisp hops. Simple and classic. Solid Pale Lager.

A decent APA, with nice balance between hops and malt sweetness. Pours a cloudy amber, with small head. Good food for accompanying food. On tap at restaurant/brewery.

Was kind of strangely fruity in nature. Reminded me of a saison or some sort of Belgian or Trappist ale. Poured a dark copper, with small, stable head. On tap at brewpub/restaurant.

On tap at South Shore. Murky unfiltered violet hued orange tan. Served with 6-7 buleberries. The blueberry doesn’t really jump out at you. Medium bodied, pretty dull and lifeless, still drinkable. just insipid.
