Bottle bought at the brewery and schlepped back while on vacation with the family. Pours a deep reddish shoe leather color with a small smattering of tiny bubbles that disappear almost instantly. Not a good sign this might be lacking some carbonation. Smell is sweet and malty. Dark dried fruits mixed with toffee and brown sugar and a hint of ethanol. Apricots, prunes, cherries, plums coated in brown sugar. Taste is sweet like I expected. Dark fruits and sugar syrup mixed with a hint of alcohol. The light level of carbonation makes this feel syrupy and probably a bit sweeter than it is. Medium to thick body with a slightly drying finish. I thought this tasted and smelled pretty good, but was a little less than complex. More bubbles and more character malts would have made this a great brew.

Served on tap at the source. Pours a solid black with a decent tan head that sticks around for a while. Smells of chocolate, coffee, roasted grains, lots of dark pitted fruit, and enough earthy hops to be seen but not heard. Taste is roasty dark chocolate with hints of coffee, licorice and dark fruit. Full body leaves a long lingering chocolate and fruit in the finish. Thick and creamy mouthfeel with a light level of carbonation and a thick body. I really enjoyed this stout from a brewery I never heard of but happened upon by chance. I wish they hadn’t sold out of bottles of this before I arrived. Great Stout!

My personal #1900 rating. 22oz bottle. Poured a solid clear copper color with a very small white head. Aroma is a bit of grain, with a creamy, smooth. Flavor is rich malts, creamy notes. Alcohol is hidden very well, but I got a bit of burn on the tongue. A very good brew and look forward to checking out their other brews in the future.
