I guess if you held a gun to my head and made me choose an American Lite, this would be it. I mean if Sam Adams stopped making theirs. I agree that this is a good chick beer.

Its been a long time since I've tried it, but I still remember what is was like, and I don't think i want to spend good money on it again, just to give it a rating. So what was my reaction...? YUCK! Their slogan regarding no more bitter beer face is appropriate though, cuz this beer has so little flavor that its impossible to get a taste reaction at all. And whats so bad about bitter beer anyway? Give me a good ultra-hopped IPA anyday of this swill.

A stronger malt presence than all other Coors products, but still lacking anything distinct. Somewhat bland but drinkable (and I mean drinkable in the sense that it doesn't taste bad).

Another update, back in 2000 I wrote that this beer tasted salty to me and gave me a headache. I can distinctly remember the times I had it back then, and I do remember all of that. But it's all pretty weird. This ain't a good beer, but it do drank good. It's about as clean as these pale lagers get - just a touch of corn or cereal grain sweetness that is lightly off putting but mostly neutral.

So I'm rerating this beer, which was one of my earliest ratings on this site, written on its first day, April 26, 2000. I previously trashed it, gave it a 0.7 and said it was one of the worst beers I've ever had. Nearly 20 years later, I can't say I love this beer or anything ridiculous like that, but it most definitely isn't among the worst beers. I can name a hundred so called craft brews that I would drainpour, but I'll drink this. It's cleaner than most of the pale lagers, just a slight grainy/corn flavor. It has become my go to swill lager. Drink it in the stubbies
