Description
Small Town Brewery is dedicated to crafting gruit-inspired beers. Gruit–German for herbs–describes the ancient practice of bittering ales with roots, spices, flowers, and berries. Tim Kovac, founder and brewmaster of Small Town Brewery, uses a proprietary technique to infuse a specialty blend of herbs and spices into his brewing process to create gruit-inspired beers with the unmistakable taste of nostalgia featuring classic American flavors.

Pours dark brown color with tan head. Smells and tastes like regular root beer. Just a hint of alcohol. Medium to full body with fizzy carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Average tasting root beer with a kick.

Bottle from Albertsons. There’s a reason root beer has "beer" i n the name, and this is it. Deliciously sweet, but lurking in the background is the nugget of old school Brewing, hence the name. Not my father’s, but perhaps my Grandfathers.?

Wow, I’m really not seeing the hype on this one. It has a bit a root beer flavor, but also alot of gentian or whatever they put in Angostura bitters because it smells almost just like that. Semi-sweet medicinal finish. Noticeable alcohol bite at the finish. Cola like pour.

Looks like root beer, smells like root bee, and tastes sweet like root beer. Hmmm must be root beer. Could be that the sweetness conceals the alcohol ?

I’m assuming it was this one. Dark mahogany. Definitely smells and tastes like root beer. Sweet and fizzy root aroma like drive through A&W. Very sweet. Bottle shared at tasting.

I have been hearing how good this is so i picked up a few bottles. I love root beer, and drink ot frequently. This has a little of the standard root beer aroma and some of the flavor, ut it is extremely sweet and there is what i perceive to be an off flavor of chemicals that combined with the sugar, made this indrinkable to me.

Bottle. Clear amber brown color. Aroma is exactly root beer. So is the taste. Wow. Glad my first was the lower alcohol version though.
