Sample at The Ohio Taproom. The beer is a clear golden color with a medium off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of biscuit malt, fruit and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, fruit and doughy malt. The finish if mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Sample at The Ohio Taproom (as Hoppy Poppy). The beer is a clear orange color with a medium foamy white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of hops, grapefruit and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at The Crafty Pint. The beer is a slightly hazy amber-copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet caramel, earthy hops and roast malt. The finish is sweet with a bready malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Dark brown color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and citrus. Medium-bodied with flavors of toasty malt, citrusy hops and mild coffee. The finish is roasty with a malt and resiny hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Deep brown with a small, soapy head. Scent is roasty, very light smoke...slight mustiness. Taste is chocolate and a bit of ash. Rather watery, decent..but weak.

Tap at Cincy Beerfest. Earthy smoky peat and chocolate aroma. Dark brown with a minimal head. Smoky peat, coffee, chocolate, and ash flavor with a light bitter finish. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slight astringent mouthfeel.

Sample at the Mead Molehill tasting on 01/10/2011. Clear yellow-gold color with a minimal head and a couple spots of lace. Aroma of vine fruits and honey. Medium body with flavors of sweet honey and tart fruit along with a bit of spice. The finish is fruity with a nice pineapple aftertaste. Above average overall.
