Side pull at the brewery. Pours a clear, golden color, with a big, frothy, white head. The nose is rose, grassy hops, light bitterness, and black pepper. Sweet and malty, with a fairly bold, pleasant bitterness. Light to medium body, sharp, and a little sticky. Over hopped, but tasty enough.

Draft at the brewery. Pours an opaque, dark orange color, with a fair, dense, off-white head. The aroma is cardamom, pear brandy, banana esters, black pepper, and hay. Fairly sweet and yeasty, with a light, crisp bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and chewy. Quality and interesting.

16oz can from the brewery. Medium bodied, true to style. Smoked Dunkel more or less. Very drinkable, with some rich brown malts besides the smoked. Maybe more in line with a ten dollar 6pack than a 14 dollar 4pack but still enjoyable.
