16oz can from Tavour. Very pale yellow, hazy, milky, wispy head. Bready aroma with faint citrus. Oats adding a creamy consistency, more white bread, and a small touch of grapefruit peel. Very light on the palate.

16 oz from the brewery. Aroma is caramel, lightly bready, toasted marshmallow. Pours nearly clear amber with a one finger beige head with good retention. Taste is moderately bittersweet with flavors like the aroma. The bitterness builds on the palate and lingers; finishes pretty dry. Not bad.

16 oz from the brewery. Aroma is cocoa, black coffee, dark bread, roasty, cigar ash. Pours a very dark brown hue with a one finger beige head that falls into a ring somewhat quickly. Taste is highly bitter for style with only a hint of sweetness. Good, but I was hoping for a sweeter stout.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5

16 oz from the brewery. Aroma has notes of skunk, weed, Brussels sprout, pineapple (or is that the lychee?), vanilla. Pours murky orange with a one finger cream-white head with good retention. Taste has a moderate amount of bitterness to go along with the sweetness provided by the lactose and malt. Not sure what those vegetal notes are from, but I can look past it easier with the flavor than the nose, where it's near overpowering. This would be amazing without the off-notes. As it is, it's still pretty good.
