Description
This team of owner-operators was formed shortly after the group realized they all were after the same thing, just in different parts of the province. Brewer John Folinsbee was planning a brewery in Squamish, industry veteran Marc Roberts had his sights on Vancouver while entrepreneur Ben Reeder and builder Adam Steinberg were looking at brewing in the Cowichan Valley on Reeder’s hop farm. After tasting John’s recipes they decided to go all in and combine forces to build the 6000 square foot brewery, tasting room and kitchen in Squamish.

Can - Fresh citrus and tropical fruit. Hazy gold with a frothy white head. Citrus and some tropical fruit with a huge hit of bitterness and a reasonable finish. That mid bitterness is very overwhelming.

Can - Big skunky grains. Clear gold with a frothy light head. Soft grains, then lots of big grain bitterness and a crisp finish. Very solid.

Dull med brown with no head. There’s a ton of coffee on the nose, kind of 1 dimensional. Soft, fudgey with a butterscotch note. Ok, but that heavy coffee seems out of place. Underlying beer is thin and weak.

Cloudy and pale, just a shade darker than their other IPAs. Nose is off - buttery. Body shows the same - buttery, thin, all those beautiful German hops kind of wasted under the diacetyl.

Cloudy, pale. Thin head. Beautiful hop nose on this one - it’s Equinox, Citra and Amarillo and you get them all. Bitter, nice clean pale malt, lemony-orangey note. Nice weedy finish, too.

Light amber. No head. Slight caramel nose, similar palate. Bland amber I’ve had a thousand times. It doesn’t even matter how well you make it.

Dull and hazy, no head. Had a nice fruity, floral hop character. Soft, with moderate bitterness, fruity. Sloppy, unrefined example. I like the style but this is lacklustre.

Cloudy, pale, bright hop nose with a lot of pithy citrusy bitterness and fresh fruity character. Malts are sweet, but this is one of my go-to IPAs these days.

Golden, no head.bit thick pale malt, hops are herbal but not interesting. Moderate bitterness, hops are spicier on the palate. Decent balance but kind of lacking in dynamism.

Update Can - Dank and piney. Cloudy gold with a frothy white head. Dank and piney with a nice bitterness. Very different, but a new brewery that may be changing recipes frequently. Hopefully this stick as I like it. Draft - Fruity citrus. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Light bready, tropical fruity notes and a light bitterness. Decent.
