Description
Analog's brand is an extension of the personalities of its founders: beer lovers and nerds who love sci fi, vintage video games, and board games. We embrace our geeky-ness and are using it to capture the “geek chic” movement within modern pop culture that has led to the success of comic book movies and TV shows, board game cafes and the resurgence of arcades.

We are also proudly Albertan and proudly Canadian. We eat local and drink local. Alberta has world class grain that we will showcase in our brews.

Ok, nice touch throwing the rice milk extract into this. Not enough brewers seem aware that horchata is a rice drink, and they skip that step. Ne skip steps pas, por favor. Dark brown, with a thin head. Rice, vanilla and chocolate on the nose. On the palate, it's a somewhat thin porter, augmented with the rice, vanilla and cinnamon horchata characteristics. So it's not bad. But here's the thing. I first encountered horchata beers a bunch of years ago in Mexico, and of course they came north in short order because it's a damn fine idea. But I'm still waiting on that magic one that really blows my mind.

473ml can. Pours a hazy pale pink with a small, creamy, short lived, off-white head that laces. Fruity aroma of grainy wheat malt, raspberry, grapefruit and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy wheat malt, raspberry, lactose, grapefruit, vanilla, faint oats and floral hops in a dry, tart, slightly bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not very creamy for a Milkshake IPA. Could probably use more lactose and oats. Not bad, but the original was better.

650ml waxed cap bottle. Pours a clear dark ruby with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of toasted caramel malt, plum, raisin, chocolate, toffee, earth and oak. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, plum, raisin, brown sugar, earth, vanilla and light oak in a dry, mild bitter, coffee finish. Medium body with a soft, creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Not really getting any brandy notes and since this is a barrel-aged beer it missed the mark a little bit. A solid Baltic Porter that should have been aged in the barrels a little longer.
