Can from Land & Sea. Looks like shit - that dull, oxidized murky appearance of a hazy gone wrong. Smells okay - fruity and kveiky. On the palate, similar. It's not tight, that's for sure. The fruity hop character is middling - some stone fruit, some tropical stuff. The kveik lends some esters, too, but they don't really add anything. The malts are a bit of a let down - if this got a bit oxidized it shows mostly in the malt base. So when it's all put together, it's not bad, but a bit of a letdown given that Land & Sea is one of the better breweries up island and this seems at the low end of what I'd expect from them.

Can from the brewery. Golden colour, not much head. Pours bright. Grainy, slightly sweet pale malt note, with a warm bready finish. Not much bitterness or hop aromatics, as per the style. I’m not a big Cream Ale fan but this does hit the style quite well…I’d score it better at a competition than I am here.

Hazy and pale, medium head. Phenolic aroma, just some low key plastic stuff. Lots of ginger in there, a bit of wheat, but still it’s pretty sticky and the phenols aren’t ideal.

Purplish colour, opaque. This contains bloob and spruce tips. Both come through on the nose, especially the spruce tips. Decent bitterness, almost spicy but that’s really the interplay between the hop and spruce. Mildly tart. This comes together pretty well all told.

Pale amber, bit of chill haze, thin head. Piney hops on the nose with light orangey notes. Soft malts, light toffee but mostly orangey hops. Good balance.

Very pale, opaque, thick head. Dank hop nose with tropical fruits. Moderate bitterness but bright fruits. Soft sweet malt base. Light acidity but this is bringing the brightness.

On tap. Pours a hazy lemonade color with little head. Aromas of lemons and wheat. Flavors follow same but with some phenols and lemon cleaner. Needs some work.

Dark black body and some very modest foam, sharp sweet barley on the nose. Flavour is more sweet barley with vague hop hints. Tastes like a sweet stout, maybe I'm a n00b who can't pick out the kölsch or maybe it's just not there; either way, still drinkable.
