Bottled, thanks Bov! Near black, rich beige head. Rich coffee aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel - excessive carbonation. Coffee and dark chocolate. Low bitterness.

Bottle from their webshop. Pours unclear yellow. Aroma is citric, lemon peel, soft funk. Body is medium, very citric, lemon, sour and tart. Fizzy carbonation, all super drinkable and balanced. Lemon juice beer. With a hint of apple vinegar. Good!

Redder than golden. Aroma is milkshake raspberry, with lots of funk and lacto. Taste is very acidic in the throat, slight wheat. Not very pleasant. Not very good but interesting and funky.

Bottle, with many thanks to Switzerland! Unclear golden-orangeish color with white head. Aroma is acetone and balsamico, raspberry skin, light grainy, vegetal. Taste is raspberry, grain. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. A bit too vegetal and grainy, also a bit acetone, but ok.

At the Barrel Society 2018. Pours pitch black. Aroma is almost pure peat, with some ash and railroad tracks. Also a little green apples, but according to the brewer this is intentional, coming from the whisky barrel. Body is heavy and strong, full of peat and tar. A little sour, but hey this is Blackwell after all. Fizzy carbonation, but mostly in the background. Quite well balanced apart from the tar and peat bomb. Good!

At the Barrel Society 2018. Pours cloudy brown with a beige head. Aroma is raisin, dried prune, booze and some herbal wood. Body is heavy and strong, but some more herbal than fruity, not as you would expect from a Quad. Still raisin. Sweet lingering palate, still boozy and warming, probably too young. Good, though.

At the Barrel Society 2018. Pours hazy yellow. Aroma is strong aroma hops, citric and tropical fruit, passion fruit and mango. Body is light and a bit thin and watery, lacking body. Still showing hops flavours and bitterness, but the backbone is really missing. Not a great session pale.

At the Barrel Society 2018. Pours unclear red. Aroma is raspberry, light wild funk, marmalade. Body is medium, a bit funky, fizzy carbonation, more marmalade, and yes, sour and tart. Well balanced, also hiding the rather high ABV. Dryish palate, still fruity. Good.

At the Barrel Society 2018. Pours clear dark amber. Aroma is pure spire and pine tree, really smells like a fresh Christmas tree. Body is medium, quite bitter, citric fruit and pine, a bit of black tea, low carbonation. Less Christmas tree than on the nose. Still, a good beer.
