Taster showing medium amber with sparse white foam.

The nose shows moderately intense notes of pine and pine needles.

The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Pine forward with a strong malt backbone followed by a balanced but very long sharp pine bitterness. Bitterness seems to go on a while.

On tap at Optimism, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out spicy notes, with toasted caramel and subdued hops. Flavour is more like a saison, with lots of spicy saison yeast and toasted bready caramel. Dry and spicy. Weird that this is considered by a barley wine. Good for what it is.

On tap at Optimism, pours an opaque peachy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out pithy fruits, citrus zest and chalky yeast. Flavour is like a typical hazy, with chalky yeast and pithy stone fruits. Not much clarity here. It's alright.

10 oz pour (I think) enjoyed at Optimism. Juicy, bright golden orange, plenty of haze. Oily active fizz head. Fresh orange fruit, and rich malt aromas. Flavor is bold, imperial impressions, but it's not really boozy. A fresh feel to this IPA. Orange peel bitterness. I wouldn't give it the full thumbs up in the refreshing department, but a good triple IPA needs to be a touch aggressive. I've been so spoiled with smooth juice bomb big imperials lately that I'm creating stupid things to complain about. Little to find there with this one though. Cheers to 3 years. Enjoyed this.

Florals and some caramel, booze. A little on the sweet side for me. Pours clear maroon without much head or lacing. Sweet end. Tap at brewery.
