Thanks random beer guy whose name I don’t know at Pivoteka! Misty golden, white head. Onion and herbs hop aroma. Soft apricot and herbal, pine hop taste, much nicer, soft maltiness. Not bad at all, great IPA.

Bottle. Rather clear, pale golden body with a nice, dense white head. Lots of small bubble rising like champagne in the glass, looks great. Refreshing aroma of grapefruit, black currant and cat pee. Very nice in the nose. Flavor is light and refreshing pale malt, grain and grassy bitterness like a pilsner but in addition a delicious mix of fruity hops, just like a pleasant addition without overdoing and screwing around with the pilsner base. Medium body and nice and bitter aftertaste. Highly quaffable and surprisingly tasty for a pilsner.

Hazy, orange golden colored, medium creamy white head, OK lasting. Aroma is of malt, some caramel, herbal and citrus, basil? with some Mortadella. Taste is medium sweet malt and some caramel, herbal and light citrus, some Mortadella again, medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft+ carbonation, oily. (bottle, Pivoteka Zagreb)

Botle 35,5 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and an off-white head. Dry, nutty nose. Medium body, extremely dry again again with these nutty accents and a slight metallic edge. Massive late bitterness. 060317

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Appearance is mostly clear orange-brown (like light maple syrup) with trace sparkle, a few dark floaties, finger-width off-white foamy head with fair retention and light sudsy lacing. Aroma is mix of citrus, resiny and grapefruit hops over caramel malts--the mix is a bit like B.O. Taste is bitter grapefruit and resin with late toast/biscuit malt. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and mostly bitter finish. Overall, there’s some complexity here but to me the aroma and flavor profiles just aren’t a good mix of hops and malts.

Bottle pour into tulip glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is virtually opaque black--deep brownish red with light source directly behind--with light sparkle at edge of glass, finger-width light brown head with poor retention and no lasting lacing. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruits, roasted coffee, and mild oak. Taste is strong sweet dark fruit with oak, chocolate, and bittersweet coffee ending. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and nice mix of sweet dark fruit and coffee bitterness in the finish. Overall, nice complexity and the oak is complementary vs. omnipresent. Taste and aroma carry the day so I didn’t really notice a weak palate that could be more meaty.
