Not to style to be sure but good. More like a pale ale than a marzen. Pours amber with ok head. Some citrus and good malt. Tap sampled at whole foods.

Can from the Quick Stop Londonderry. Fairly clear deep yellow color with a huge frothy white head that persists forever. Overripe tropical fruit and rind overpower the nose, but eventually some hints of pine and light crackery malt make it through. The flavor is a bit sweeter with bready maltiness and lots of citrus and juicy tropical fruit flavors. The pine is quite subdued in the flavor and would have helped out a bit to cut through some of the sweet flavors here. Still a damn good pilsener right here, glad I bought the intensely white four pack.

Pounder: Grass nose with minty accents and cat pee overtones. Fairly clear amber, thick sticky head. Cat pee, lemongrass. Medium body, alcohol evident. Iβm not a fan of the hop bill or the concept, but it was well executed.

Keg pour at powder keg beer and chili festival. Aroma is grassy, hay, resinous, piney hops. Appearance is yellow slightly hazy pour, white foamy head with nice lacing, no sparkle. Taste is medium bitter of pine, resin, herbs. Palate is light to medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation. Overall, definitely an IPA.

Bottle. Earthy/funky orange malt and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet earthy barnyard orange malt and moderately bitter pine/grapefruit peel flavor. Great blending. One of the best bottled IPAs Iβve had in quite a while.

Pours a clear golden from a bottle, aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, a little resin, very hoppy obviously. Some slight wheaty edge to the flavor but not much, not as cloudy as many wheat ales are. Rather bitter, but has a full mouthfeel. Okay beer.

On tap at Black Squirrel in DC. Pours a murky black with some tan head. Nose has roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, some brown sugar. Something a bit vegetal lurking. Flavor has malt, vanilla, brown sugar, molasses, some chocolate, mild spice, a little booze. Some clear green bell pepper though. Medium bodied and almost a bit watery on the end.
