Description
Maui Brewing Company was founded by Garrett Marrero and Melanie Oxley. They started as a single brew-pub, a small restaurant that served its own locally brewed beer in January 2005. Demand for the beer outgrew the space available in the brewpub and in 2007, Maui Brewing Company started producing and packaging beer out of a separate production facility. In 2012 Marrero and Oxley opened yet another larger production facility, which increased their capacity from 18,000 barrels of beer to almost 40,000 barrels.

Location: 12 oz can from NickD717, 6/6/10
Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet with lots of roasted malts, some caramel, chocolate, and coconut.
Appearance: From the can it pours an opaque brown color with a creamy light brown head.
Flavor: The taste is relatively sweet, big roasted malt flavor, pretty much no bitterness.
Palate: This beer is exceedingly smooth, easy to drink, and fairly rich.
Overall Impression: This beer is quite interesting. I haven't really tasted anything like this one, but it works pretty well. It is a touch sweeter then what I tend to prefer, but I liked it. The smoothness of it is quite nice, and despite the interesting flavors, that is really the memorable part of this one for me. Thanks, Nick!

Can courtesy of jdubFL. Pours deep gold with copper hues and thin white head. The aroma is mild feebly pushing up notes of citrus, some pine and other faint vague hoppy notes. The taste is sweet with malts and a modest level of citrus and pine hops in the background. By about midway spicy hops, citrus hop flavor and a touch of pine heads running off into the finish with a sweet citrus cotton candy sense taking it into the after taste.

Can. Nicely fragrant and fruity hop aroma. Good rich caramel malt flavor with great hops. Hops work well overall, flavor, aroma, and bitterness. Good balance. A well-done IPA.

Can (big thanks to joss!!!!!!): Deep, very, very deep piney-hoppy nose with a solid sweetish (exotic-) fruity background; deep golden coloured, a bit unclear, medium-sized white head, sticking to the glass; solid bitter and sweet flavour, very smooth and medium bodied; lingering fruity (grapefruit, lemons) and gorgeous hoppy (piney, citrussy) finish, balanced by sweet pale malt. Wow!!!!!!!

(can, 35.5cl) Hazy, golden colour with a thick and slightly off-white foamy head. Fruity and very piney hoppy aroma with moderately sweet pale malty and slightly spicy background. Slightly bitter flavour with a rounded malty sweetness, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Soft pale malty base with a cornucopia of hop flavours, most of all exotic fruits (guave, mango) and grape-fruit; leading into a medium-dry, slightly bitter very and lasting exotic hoppy finish. A Hawaiian taste bomb. 03.III.10

Can thanks to joeneugs! Pours a very dark brown with a thin light brown head. Aroma seems a bit weak with soft notes of roasted malt and a slight hint of sweet coconut. The flavor brings out much more with roasted malts throughout with a nicely balanced that has a nice coconut note as well.

9-12-09......12 oz can (thanks Kawabomber).....dark pepsi colored with a brown sugar head.....rich coffee and chocolate aromas....and upon sitting for almost 20 minutes I smell the coconut in the aroma...yum......the flavor is the same as the aroma.....I like that in a beer....it has a silky body that compliments the roasted coffee malt thing going on and the coconut is subtle throughout
