Light amber color with a white head with good retention. Aroma has resins notes with good maltiness. Flavor is mild citrusy with strong hoppy notes and some peachy hints. Good maltiness in the final with a decent bitterness.

Bottle from Total Wine in Huntington Beach. Pours light gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma is bready with a touch of grassy/spicy. Near med body. Flavor is bready with some interesting grass and spice bits. Not the typical Helles hop impact. Not more. Just seems more complicated. Good for the style.

Taste is slightly dry and concentrated grassy, hops, leafs, lawn, pine needles, citrus peel, weeds, light malts, alcohol. Longlasting bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours orange with a beige head. Aroma of nice coffee. Med + body. Flavor is very coffee, but some bourbon manages to creep in. There’s a bit of oak astringency. Smooth; mellow; no problem with heat. This beer’s what’s for breakfast. Delicious.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours cola color with no real head. Aromas of med dark fruit and treacle. Full bodied or nearly. Seems a bit smoky, but that could be char. There’s a sort of burnt wood and oak astringency, but it’s brown sugary enough to be quite a bit less than dry. Certainly not bitter. No real heat in the mouth, but it warms the throat and tum. Interesting stuff.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark gold with a white smear. Aroma suggests fruit lightly soaked in Rye. Med body. Flavor is oak and rye, with some fruity esters decorating things. It’s somewhat oak astringent. Rye is not super strong, but it’s clearly present. Maybe a little bit of heat coming out in the finish. I really, really like it.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy to transparent bronzed color with a slim finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated immediately leaving clingy messy lacing.
The smell had some herbal to floral sweetness rolling over a caramel maltiness.
The taste copied the smell staying sweet throughout . Barely any bitterness showed any presence. Slight caramel aftertaste and a semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed decent for the style and for me. The herbal quality puncuates the palate to create a decent smoothness.
Overall, if the bitterness was brought up on this one...yeah, could be way better.
