From a 355ml bottle on 18/4/2015. Pours a cloudy apricot with a small head. The nose features caramel malt, some fruity hops and honey. In the mouth, you get a big caramel malt backbone, mandarin, peach, apricot, honey, grapefruit and a hint of pepper. The hops are big, sticky and resiny. The palate is creamy and the carbonation soft. On first sip, I wasn’t entirely sold, but as it warmed, the complexity and balance became increasingly evident. Very nice indeed.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark mahogany with a frothy light tan head with some broken lace. The aroma is light sweet caramel malt with a little smoke. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a smooth, rich chewy roasted malt, light hop, light smoky liqorice bitter palate. Moderate to full bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at The Local Taphouse. Pours clear amber. The aroma clearly states "yup, I’m an IIPA" with its flowery sweetness. The taste feels challenged by that and punches you with a nice combo of sweet bitterness. Punchy and strong, nothing to hide. Almost too much.

Aroma: The nose is roasted malt forward, some light smoke, wood notes, and a bit of tobacco
Appearance: Pours a dark brown-black color with a foamy light brown head and drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is dry and roasted malts, light smoke/tobacco, and a mid-bitter close
Palate: The body is medium-full, not overly heavy, with a soft carbonation, and a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is actually a quite enjoyable, dry, and fairly easy drinking example of the style. There's a lack of sweetness that works nicely here. Dry and enjoyable.

Black. Very heavy roasted, but surprisingly smooth and the roasted, almost burnt malt flavors are not overpowering notes of coffee and chocolate. Good palate, and some sugar.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is big woody citrus fruit hop. The flavour is strong bitter with a resin woody alcoholic hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

22oz bomber called The Big Office at 8% pours with an opaque deep gold body that supports a thin off white head of foam that leaves behind spotty lacing. The aroma offers up a blend of resiny pine hops, the malty base and then pineapple and a sliver of grapefruit. The taste starts pretty smooth with malts and malt sweetened pine hoppiness. It quickly gets into malt sweetened resiny sticky pine hops as well as lesser amounts of pineapple and grapefruit fruity hoppiness that is largely bitter but also a dash juicy. Pretty nice firmly hopped firmly resiny brew.

Sehr dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit einer geringen braunen Schaumkrone. Geruch stark nach Kaffee, Vanille, verbrannte Erde. Geschmack sehr schokoladig, sehr viel Vanille, Kaffee, klasse!

Appearance: A clear yellow-golden beer with a small, fizzy head and basically no lacing
Flavor: Taste-wise, it is rather sweet, almost unpleasantly so, lacking balance
Palate: This one has a somewhat cloying feel, with a lively carbonation, and a rather sticky finish
Overall Impression: Weirdly, it seems like no one east of the Mississippi has rated this before me. Anyway, I found this to be fairly poor. At best this is just an okay overly sweet lager. For me though, it is too sweet, and has too much of a corn/adjunct flavor.
