Keg at the Bat, 24th February 14. Unusual impy, not the smoothest and the ABV is not hidden well, strange taste, slightly harsh, may settle with age

Straw and cloudy. Aroma is lemony and lightly fruity...lots of citra. Not a ton of bitterness, but full of hop character backed by sweet pale malts.

Cock Tavern. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is smooth, viscous and semi dry. Smooth creamy dry dark malts. Spice sweet earthy coffee. Mild dark malt tang. Both coffee and dark malt bitterness toward the dry finish. Rich and tasty but the beer gets chewy quite quickly.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney, London. Pours thick, brown-black with a creamy, tan head. The nose has expressive espresso, charred malts, mud and dark chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with burnt brown bread, hefty cocoa, moderate roast, leathery berries, bitter earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with bittersweet baking cocoa, more earth, coffee, burnt wood, obvious alcohol, light grass, dried berries. Quite the heavy-hitter, this one. Relatively drinkable but lacks the depth I would expect from a beer of this strength.
