After six years of slinging the best chicken wings this side of Buffalo, we decided to enter Portland's brewing gold rush and stake our claim! Fire on the Mountain Brewing continues the promise of our restaurant: serving fresh and delicious products from locally-sourced, high-quality ingredients.

Fire on the Mountain Brewing Company has been kegging up some of Portland’s finest small-batch beers since firing up our kettle back in 2011.

We operate a 7 barrel brew system in Northeast Portland with an adjoining Taproom, and produce about 1,000 barrels of fine ales and lagers every year. We opened with 28 barrels of fermenting capacity, and have nearly quadrupled our capacity since.

While our brewery continues to grow, our mission remains the same: to make outstanding beer for excellent people. You can find Fire on the Mountain Brewing Company beers on tap at all of our restaurants in Portland.

On tap at Fire on the Mountain - Fremont, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian yeast upfront, followed by piney hops and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney hops and sweet Belgian yeast vying for frontrunner, with a dry biscuity malt finish. A bit jagged but reasonably balanced. Meh.

On tap at Fire on the Mountain - Fremont, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of dry cocoa powder and oats. Flavour is along the same lines, with notes of cocoa and hearty oats. Thick palate without being too abrasive. Solid stuff.

On nitro tap at Fire on the Mountain - Fremont, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out dry toasted malt, not really any smoke and a touch of lactose. Flavour brings out notes of lactose and to a lesser degree, honey sweetness. Creamy, smooth palate. Not very complex or anything, but easy to drink.
