Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma has a medium light grain note with some light floral and herbal hop notes. Clean fermentation with no phenolics and faint fruity esters. Pours a fairly clear, yellow gold with a medium large, thick, pillowy white head that recedes steadily to a thin film that lingers. Moderate lacing and no legs. Flavor has medium light grain and bread notes with hints of cracker that lingers in the finish. Medium to medium light bitterness with light hop notes. Hop notes are herbal and spicy. No esters or phenolics. Mouthfeel is light bodied and a lsightly crisp with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice pilsner. Well balanced grain notes with some light hop aromas and flavors.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma of smoke and very dark malt. Some dark chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, some smoky notes, some anise, could be some coffee. Not to mention incredibly dark roast malt. It's not 100% dry, but it is bitter and astringent. I think it's complex. Hard to parse everything. Let's toss in a bit of earthiness. Tis great stuff!

Bottle from Cap Tap. Pours bright gold with a white head. Aroma seems dankly citrus. Med + body at least. Flavor is citrus and seeded fruit - like apple/pear. Dank is in it for me. Not quite juicy and not quite dry. The malt isn't wholly submerged. Yet it is very nicely bitter - more than expected on 55 IBU. Really tasty and excellent.

On tap at the Crafty Fox, San Francisco. Pours cloudy golden, white head. Hoppy, fruity, grapefruit, juicy, caramel backbone, sweetness in the middle, finishes with lasting dry bitterness. Medium bodied.

On tap at Diving Dog, pours a hazy chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, toasted nuts and caramel - very sweet. Flavour is fairly spicy and yeasty, with roasted chestnuts, caramel bready malt and Belgian yeast. Nowhere close to an authentic quad, nor all that complex. It's pleasant enough, but doesn't hit the mark.

On tap at Diving Dog, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with dark fruits, light roast and caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of caramel malt, moderate roast and some dark fruitiness. Thick, viscous palate, with a bit of phenolic character. Okay. Subpar for the style.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours bright gold with a white head. Aroma approaches dank citrus. Med body. Flavor is fruit juicy with a little dank touch. I think I can parse citrus and white berries. It’s on the dry side and very pleasingly bitter. Really nice IPA.
