Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Sour soy, chocolate and espresso aromas. Thin with sweet milk chocolate, soy and espresso upfront turning to chalky unpleasant coffee grounds, sour licorice and multigrain pumpernickel in the lasting finish.

My father in law bought me some “weird beer” for visit and this is first. Cloudy dirty gold and sudsy head. Nose is vanilla and berry. Tastes of raspberry syrup, vanilla, lactose, lime, herbs.

Good maple flavor, not too overpowering.

Flavors of pumpkin puree and pie spices. More subtle than most pumpkin beers, thanks to the lactose and vanilla. Smooth and semi-creamy mouthfeel. Medium body. The 6.0% ABV is invisible. No bitterness. Low carbonation.

16oz can. Unfiltered greyed orange-tan body. Steady white head. Pink grapefruit juice hop tone. Bitter and astringent, awkward and inexpert. Drinkable, but rather harsh. Certainly puts me off of buying any other Rusty Rail product. Sub par stuff.
