Stormcloud Brewing Company opened June 2013 in the harbor town of Frankfort, Michigan. Tucked between the soaring sand dunes and stormy shores of northern Lake Michigan, Stormcloud specializes in brewing Belgian Inspired ales.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Aroma blending pale maltiness with fresh hops. Flavor has the piney, spicy, earthy fresh hops backed with pale malts and light caramel. Very nice bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aromas of yeasty clove and bubble gum with green apple. Flavor leads with the same, mixing in pale malts and a definite herbal component. Probably the least exciting beer of the night, but by no means bad!

On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with a white head and has a citrus hop aroma. Strong citrus and pine hop flavors as well. Pretty good.

Another Day, Another Apocalypse from Stormcloud Brewing Company

Rerate, September 2016, from the local malt version known as "Empire Strikes Back." Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma is yeasty and sweet. Yeasty clove/bubble gum flavor, sweet pale malty, red apple/pear. I suspect it’s not just this version, but some combination of recipe improvements in general and changing tastes, but this is getting a much higher rating than I gave it back in 2013.

On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with a white head. Sweetish yeasty aroma with apple. Green apple flavor, yeasty and a bit tart. Another good one. 7/4/8/3/14/3.6

Fun Guv'nr Black IPA from Stormcloud Brewing Company

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a light tan head. Soapy aroma with roasty coffee. Flavor leads with pine and citrus hops matched with more roastiness. Very nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with a white head. Yeasty aroma. Flavor has a tart, tangy citrus and apple yeasty blend with floral notes. This saison really has a nice punch to it. Probably my favorite of the night.
