Tap at Zum Roud’n. Light apple and barley malt aroma. Hazy orange-amber color with giant head. Sweet fruity barley malt flavor - fruity flavor somewhere between apple and orange. Nice grassy hops finish. Seemed to stand out among the Zoigls I had - Excellent - didn’t want to stop drinking this one.

Tap @ Zoiglstube. Orange color, cloudy. malty flavor with some initial flowery hops. Hint of licorice. Bready. Hint of citrus. Almost medium bodied. Lovely zoigl, a bit low on aroma.

Draught at Beim Gloser, Windischeschenbach. Cloudy amber, creamy head. Light cellar aroma. Mid-sweet , medium bodied and heavily minerally. Soft and fruity. Finishes with marked bitterness. the most powerful of the three zoigl I tasted, more filling, more minerally and more bitter. Thus less refreshing.

Draught at Weisser Schwan, Windischeschenbach. Cloudy pale amber, creamy head. Dry and lightly grassy, minerally and quite crisp. Light bodied, refreshing and easy going. More minerally than the stuff at Oberpfälzer Hof.

Draugh at Oberpfälzer Hof, Windischeschenbach. Hazy pale amber, rich creamy head. Grassy nose. Dry despite underlying malt sweetness with soft mouthfeel and light-medium body. Lightly minerally with complimentary grassy hops and lingering bitterness. tasty and hugely refreshing. Perfect in it’s simplicity!

Cloudy orange-amber. Fresh smelling and slightly herbal. Very dry, appetizing. Spicy-herbal hop character. Very rounded with a firm, understated maltiness.

Light haze. Amber-straw colour. Thick, collapsing head. Yeasty aroma with herbal hop. Fizziest zoigl of the day, with a maltier accent. More minerally in character than the others, which I did not favor, but that may have been the way it came across the palate given the extra carbonation. A bit thin.

Cloudy dull tan-amber. Full but somewhat loose head. Herbal aroma has perhaps a bit more dusty yeast than the White Swan Zoigl. Has a pithy herbal dryness. Lots of hop finish.

Very hazy orangey-amber with a thick head. Yeasty fresh aroma is rustic - light bread, light hop. Bitter, dry, full body. Lightly yeasty. Goes down easy - a complex yet completely quaffable country lager.

Draught at the hotel. Weak bready aroma. Hazy dark golden colour. Nice stable white head. The flavour has a little fruit from the hops and some slightly rough bitterness. Well-balanced.
