Clear golden pour with a generous, stable, white head. Aromas of malt, grain, brioche, marmalade, apricot. Taste is well-rounded, yeast, grain/malt/bread, peaches, apricot. Nice herbal finish. Slightly boozy finish, but in a good way.

De klassieker voor mij. Licht troebel goudgeel bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is licht bitter en fruitig met iets van banaan, wat citrus en en beetje gras. Gewoon een erg goed bier wat er niet echt bovenuit steekt maar vanuit zijn eenvoud heel goed smaakt. Ik zie alleen niet waarom er verschillende batches per jaar zijn. Ik heb nooit de indruk gehad dat er vershillende versies zijn die van elkaar zouden verschillen.

Almost clear golden topped with a thin off white cap that dissipates to a swirl.
Nose is yeast esters, bread dough, herb, hedgerow, stewed fruits.
Taste comprises candied fruit rinds, grass, yeast esters, stewed fruits, grains.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Fine for the style.

Bottle bought at Carrefour opp. Ghent Dampoort station, Ghent, Belgium. A golden/amber coloured pour with a huge white head on top. Typical boozy, sweet, fruity, yeasty affair. Prefer the original Duvel to be honest but it's fine.

opalescent pale yellow colour, large, dense, though not too stable white head; aroma of grainy, floral, dried apricot, some lemon zesty, grassy and hay notes; taste of hoppy bitterness, malty sweetness and the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; good one!
