ColdFire Brewing is a small craft brewery located in Eugene, Oregon. We are motivated by European brewing traditions and inspired by a Northwest aesthetic and ingredients. We brew small batches, working to refine the art propelled by generations of craftsmen. ColdFire Brewing was born as the dream of Dan and Stephen Hughes, brothers by birth and homebrewers since 2001. After a decade apart, the Hughes brothers decided they needed to go into business together. And as a result, ColdFire was born. Every day, they continue to be humbled by the opportunity to share their craft with others.

16 ounce can. Pours a very dark color, sort of dark brown, a medium beige head. A light coffee and roast nose. Leans heavily toward a porter or stout, light oranges, sweet chocolate, coffee, some vanilla. Pretty nice.

16 oz can from Tavour, 11/4/19. East Coast meets West Coast? Mike Wilbon must be spinning over in his make-up chair hearing Chicago described as the East Coast. This Mid-West meets West Coast beer is pretty tasty. Pours a fully murky (with some floaties in it) bright orange color, thin head, light, streaky lace. Big, fruity aroma. Lots of peach along with some mango and orange. Fruity, sweet taste. maybe a touch too sweet, but tasty overall. 8/4/7/3/15

500 ml bottle into snifter, bottled in 5/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, red wine, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, coconut, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/black/bready malts, bourbon barrels, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, red wine, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, coconut, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, roast, charred bitterness; bourbon/oak spiciness; and yeast tang/tartness on the finish. lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, red wine, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, dark bread/crust, light smoke/char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while, Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/black/bready malts, bourbon barrels, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 12.5%, minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/black/bready malts, bourbon barrels, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Fantastic soft/silky feel for the ABV. Fantastic balance of super rich malts, bourbon barrel presence/integration, and fruity yeast; with mild earthy hops. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. Feels very English styled.

Not a bad beer but I am getting so tired of sweet Stouts and the overly sweet Stouts just make it worse for everybody. The Aromas are coffee, dark malt, cocoa, marshmallows and roast. Flavors are like nose and it's just too damn sweet. It would take a little more skill to balance the Sweet Bitter and other flavors along with carbonation and body. Guess that's asking too much.

Not bad. The Aromas are fresh Citrus hops, pale malt, wet grain and a little wet paper. Flavors are like nose, at first more sweet but then turns into fairly balanced between bitter and sweet. Good carbonation body and finish.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy orange gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong oak and yeast. Medium body, oak, light stone fruit, dry finish, good.
