Description
Our name draws inspiration from the huge skies where endless mountains melt into clouds on the horizon. This might seem odd considering the fact that we are smack in the middle of the flatlands in Oklahoma City, but our founder Joel Irby (an Oklahoma native) spent 10 years perfecting his brewing craft at breweries in Boulder, Colorado. The urge eventually hit to open up his own spot, and with Oklahoma City’s recent growth and proximity to family it was the perfect place to make this dream a reality. We opened our doors in the summer of 2017.

On tap at Stonecloud, pours black with almost no head. Aroma brings out lots of sweet dark sugars, marshmallow and a hint of hazelnut. Flavour is extremely boozy, with tons of alcohol, bourbon, and marshmallow. Hot and messy; this is hard to drink. Needs serious work.

On tap at Stonecloud, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of dark sugars, coconut and bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich and sweet, with intense bourbon, dark sugars, and coconut. Very boozy, coconuty and sugary. Messy and sweet, but pretty fun. Needs work to be integrated and refined.

On tap at Stonecloud, pours a cloudy bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto and peach Snapple. Flavour is fruity and cheap, with lots of peach Snapple, lacto and gentle sweetness. Cheap and poorly integrated but not bad.

On tap at Stonecloud, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle grassiness and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp, with grassy hops and crisp biscuity malt. Could use a bit more hops, but it's nicely crisp nonetheless. Solid.

Bottle. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is dark chocolate, coconut, rum, roast. Slick body, milk chocolate, marzipan, dates, cocoa, roast, boozy finish, very nice.

Very hazy golden and light yellow coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall pure white head that leaves a nice microfoamed lace on the sides. Aroma of very crisp and grassy, herbal notes that dominate the hops with some deep citrus components as well, along with a light biscuity scent from the malts with some sugars here as well along with a touch of alcohol. Light to Medium-bodied; Relatively strong grassy and herbal notes dominate at first with a lot of sweetness up front with some asparatame, as well as some honey, flowers and some wheat notes with some light spices as well, but finishes nicely with the sugars. Aftertaste is enjoyable with some crisp herbal, grassy and floral notes with some sweetness at the end, especially from honey, but also showing caster sugar notes as well, but crisp and refreshing throughout. Overall, an enjoyable and crisp beer with a lot of wheat and herbal notes that also has a lot of grassy, floral and perfumey finishes that make this robust, while being pretty easy-drinking. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Freeman's Liqour Store in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 01-September-2022 for US$3,59 sampled a few hours later here in my hotel room here in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 01-September-2022.

Fairly hazy golden coloured body with a fairly thick, three centimetre tall off-white head that's a bit soapy and fades slowly and leaves a large lace on the sides. Aroma of bright oranges with some tangerines, apricots and a good dose of alpha acids and stronger hops. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich grapefruity and citrus flavours show at first with a lot of alpha acid bitterness from the hops that provide a nice layer on top of all the rich malts that show some biscuits, a dash of grain and some wheat as well. Aftertaste is quite bitter with a great citrus and apricot flavour also with some grapefruit and especially melony fruits coming through, all with a good sweetness and a lot of body as well. Overall, a pretty pungent and deep, super robust IPA with some deep hoppy bitterness, but a lot of fruitiness, too and balanced well with a bunch of malts and sweetness on the end - things seem quite nice for the style. Great to sample and would be worthwhile to pack in a suitcase and bring home, but this one was nice to sample right away!
