Description
Our name draws inspiration from the huge skies where endless mountains melt into clouds on the horizon. This might seem odd considering the fact that we are smack in the middle of the flatlands in Oklahoma City, but our founder Joel Irby (an Oklahoma native) spent 10 years perfecting his brewing craft at breweries in Boulder, Colorado. The urge eventually hit to open up his own spot, and with Oklahoma City’s recent growth and proximity to family it was the perfect place to make this dream a reality. We opened our doors in the summer of 2017.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, watermelon, strawberry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, watermelon, strawberry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, watermelon, strawberry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a fantastic NEIPA! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; insanely smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/drying finish. Perfectly soft feel. Great El Dorado/Simcoe profile. Extremely juicy, and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Not overly sweet from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example!

Aroma is hop forward and fruity with lots of mango, papaya, guava and lighter floral and stone fruit notes. Light grain notes as well. Pours a somewhat clear golden orange with a medium sized, thick, white head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers for a bit. Moderate lacing and faint legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a slightly dry finish. Moderate bitterness with some light alcohol spice. Moderate hop notes, but a bit less fruity than the aroma with a bit more citrus. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice, fruity lager. The malt profile is a bit muddled and the beer lacks the crispness I want in a lager; it's pretty close though.

Poured from a 32 oz crowler. Aroma is hop forward with lots of grapefruit and orange with a lesser note of overripe tropical fruit and melon. Some light dank notes as well. Hints of cracker malt and faint caramel. Pours a fairly clear, gold with a large, pillowy, slightly off white head that exhibits great retention as it slowly recedes to a small head that lingers throughout. Moderate lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with medium cracker malt notes and some faint caramel. Moderately strong bitterness with a hint of alcohol spice. Some faint oak notes with hints of wine. Some light hop flavors of citrus and dank notes. Hints of tropical fruit. A slightly odd, salty like mineral note. Mouthfeel so medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer. The aroma is nice, but the flavor is a bit muddled and messy. Perhaps better when fresh.

Poured from a 32 oz crowler. Aroma is very malt forward with lots of toasted bread and bread notes. Clean fermentation profile with perhaps a hint of raisin. No alcohol or phenolics. Pours a very clear, copper-orange color with some auburn hues and a large, thick, creamy, tan head that exhibits really great retention as it very slowly recedes to a film that lingers. Moderate lacing and no legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet but with a medium dryness to the finish. Medium bitterness with just a hint of spicy hop flavors. Moderately strong malt notes with lots of bread and toasted bread. Some lingering malt flavors. Clean fermentation profile. Mouthfeel is medium to medium light bodied with medium to medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice, well executed marzen. Clean fermentation profile with nice, complex, bready malt notes.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Aroma is balanced notes of coriander and citrus with some lighter wheat notes. A bit more citrus than coriander. Pours a somewhat hazy, pale straw color with a medium large, pillowy white head that exhibits decent retention as it slowly, but steadily recedes to the edges. Flavor is slightly sweet with a bit of a wheat note and a slightly dry, minerally finish. Medium light coriander notes with moderate orange notes. Medium light bitterness and no hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium light to light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, it's a solid wit, but nothing outside the realm of normalcy. Perhaps a bit strong on the coriander and orange but that may be a bit of nitpicking. Nice water notes.
