Description
Left Foot Charley is a winery like no other. In lieu of the single estate model, LFC is a collection of grape and apple growers located throughout Northern Michigan dedicated to growing fruit for our wine and cider. Located in the urban setting of the former Traverse City State Hospital campus known as The Village, LFC creates an array of balanced white wine, red wine and hard cider. Every bottle tells the story of the farm, the vintage and the winemaker's dream of sharing it all with you.

500ml bottle from Covenhoven in BK. Rare Vos glass. Clear, pale ginger ale gold. Smells of juicy honeydew, dripping pears, & sweet Rhine wine. Taste is semi-sweet, with a leafy green bitterness. Decently sharp, a tad soapy, & back sweetened more then usual, giving me a straight juicy pear flavor. Ending with a tart backwash & tickling carbonation. A little too obvious & clean, but it tastes fine if you enjoy a glass of fresh oj with dinner.

Bottle from Astor Wines. I’m attracted to all things piggly. :D Stemless wine glass. Hard to tell the difference between this & a crystal clear glass of reisling. Smell is mostly of dry white wine. Fruity & tannic & faintly harsh & veggy right at the tail. Something faintly tropical opens up as it warms. Taste is a dusty dry mix of sweet & twang. Very winey still, but a powdered sweetness interrupts the mild skin-ny bite, putting forth mostly banana/clove esters middle to end. This cider’s been squeezed dry of most of it’s character. Lots of sulfites. Mild carbonation.Headache forthcoming. Meh.
