Draft. Served in a tulip, great lace, sheets down the side of the glass. Light Co2. Nose is tons of fruit. Taste is mostly clementine oranges. Citrus, spicy hops dominate the palate, malt plays second fiddle. Gets significantly more bitter as it warms. Lingering spicy hops. Cool concept in a cold fermented IPA

Draft @ Sunset. Served in a tulip. Soft Co2. Thin white head with light lace. Nose is a pleasant, intoxicating amount of rye. Traces of malt. Awesome flavors of rye bread, malt and a mild spicy kick in the finish. Body feels but finishes clean and easy. Quick finish that only lingers slightly. Drinkablilty is real high. Ifyou like rye in your brew, you should enjoy this. I am pleased!

Bottle from Julio’s. Deep brown with red highlights in my mug. Thick, full white head having excellent retention and layers of lace. Roasted malt and light Earthy hop nose. Flavor does have the typical roasted malt, chocolate and German malt of the style. However, this is by far the most hoppy Schwarzbier I have ever drank. Strong bitterness in the finish, comparable to a strong IPA or black IPA. Roasted notes and German malt helps balance this brew. Tasty.

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a Sam glass. Significant pancake head with excellent retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sweet, dark chocolate, toasted nut and resin aromas. Medium to full bodied with dark caramel, roasted dark chocolate turning to pine in the lasting finish.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Pours a hazy yellowish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has real nice floral and pine hop with some backing sweet grains. Flavor has a good amount of pine and grapefruit hops with a bit of flora and backing sweet grains.

A curious looking bottle found its way home with me yesterday. Pours a cloudy deep straw color bordering on golden with a decent white head that displays minimal retention and lace. Smell comes through with lots of citrus with grapefruit and lemon dominating. Moderate pilsner malt deep underneath. Taste is quite hoppy, lots of citrus with barely any malt to back it up. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a resinous mouthfeel. Great hoppy brew and a great price too, I may have to revisit this again.
