Bottle from Fotex, Copenhagen. Gold, thin lasting beige. In the style of a Belgian wit, but a bit more lagery, hard carbonation. Less fruity and soapy. OK, refreshing, some lemon soap on finish.

gourmetbryggeriet hopfenzupfer kellerbier. 51G tap, EBF2008 aroma: i had expected more hops. however, very fresh aroma, very enticing. appears yellow with a white head, flaovr reminds me of GB pale ale, which i also like a lot, sweet, dry, slightly fruity. a bit one dimensional though. The special hops made it extra refreshing.

Bottle at EBF: Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head. Nose is heavy woody/oak. Strong alcohol. Lots of roast. Vinous & warm. Vanilla & chocolate & coffee. Smooth & creamy. Very nice!

Small dark brown head quickly disappears. Nearly opaque black body. Sweet chocolate and sherry aroma with hoppy toffee notes. Balanced and harmonic. Sweet intensely malty chocolate taste with coffee and raisin notes. Mouthfeel is soft and rounded with noticeable alcohol heat. Hoppy malty raisins aftertaste. Excellent! (0.1l taster glass from bottle at EBF ’08. They opened it at 1900, and by luck I happened to ask for it at 1904. Got the last bit from the bottle.)

Medium brown lasting head. Nearly opaque black body. Roasty coffee aroma. Sweetish burnt coffe and chocolate taste with wooden rye notes. Dry burnt chocolate aftertaste with grain notes. Balanced and harmonic; delicate. Very good! (0.1l taster draft at EBF ’08.)

From tap. Pours clear and yellow with a lacing white head. Aroma is fresh citrusy to light lime aroma. Suagrish and citrusy fresh flavour. Lingering citrusy finish.

Small white head does not last. Slightly hazy yellow body. Light fruity aroma with hoppy earthy notes. Dry-sweet delicate golden floral hoppy taste which lingers for a long time. Delicate and balanced. Highly drinkable. Very nice! (0.1l taster draft at EBF ’08.)

Draught at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. Almost clear golden, no head. Grassy nose. Dryish with clean mouthfeel. The doughy malt goes well with the grassy hops. The mouthfeel is what separates this beer from the traditional kellerbier. It’s not as soft and inviting, making it less refreshing, and gives more of impression of being a nicely hop lacquered standard lager.
